What's a non-bank lender?

Wondering exactly what a non-bank lender is? Put simply, we're a finance provider that isn't a bank. This means that since we aren't a deposit-taking institution, our loans aren't funded by customer deposits. Instead, our loans are funded through debt capital markets – marketplaces for money invested in lending.

The way you can tell how a non-bank is viewed by the markets is in their Loan Servicer ratings. We’re proud to say that we’ve had a 'Strong' Residential Loan Servicer rating since January 2012 and we’re included on S&P’s Global Select Servicer List. And more recently, we listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in May 2021. So, everything we do is fully transparent.

Helping our real life customers succeed

Keeping an eye on the planet

We've always striven to support sustainable environmental initiatives - ensuring we're doing our part for the planet. In 2021, as part of our 21st Birthday Celebrations, we planted 7 hectares of protected forest across in the countries we operate; Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.

We also established a seedling nursery to help us plant trees throughout Australia and New Zealand for many years to come.

Pepper Money Community Work

All while making a real difference in the community

We’ve partnered with community-based organisations such as Women’s and Girls Emergency Centre (WAGEC), which provide support and shelter for women experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and other disadvantage, and Panthers on the Prowl, which provides mentorship and better opportunities for young people in Western Sydney.

Our sponsorships align to our company values and play an active role in supporting their respective communities. That’s why we’re a past Co-Principal Club Partner of St Kilda Football Club. In the last three years of our partnership simultaneously as a Community Partner, we also expanded our focus on making a real difference in traditionally under-served regions.

But this isn’t just about a name on the jersey or guernsey. As well as providing enablement programs and financial grants that align to the clubs’ social codes, we also help the local communities interact with the clubs and groups that they love.
