Leading non-bank Pepper Money has announced three key people appointments as the business continues investing in its foundations for the next phase of growth.

Pepper Money’s General Manager, Mortgages and Commercial Lending, Barry Saoud said, “Following a strong and fast start to the year, we have an exciting future ahead of us; enabled by our talent and our values that underpin everything we do.

“Our investment in our people further strengthens Pepper Money’s commitment to delivering our market leading and innovative broker service proposition, driving an increase in broker utilisation, and reinforcing our relationships with our existing and new business partners,” he said.

According to Mr Saoud, the new appointments highlight the continued growth and evolution of the Pepper Money business: “These new appointments demonstrate our accelerated growth and the exciting opportunities that come with it.”

Regional Manager – South (VIC, TAS, SA, WA & NT), Alessandro (Alex) Di Torro

Alex joins Pepper Money from ANZ where he has been leading a team of 10 BDMs across WA and SA who liaise with Mortgage Brokers to ensure a great broker and customer experience. Having been in the finance industry for over 24 years, Alex has held a variety of positions ranging from being a broker, credit assessor, BDM and over the past 13 years a State Manager.

“Alex champions the same values that align with Pepper Money and prides himself on helping people reach their full potential. In an ever-changing landscape, his resilience and experience has given Alex the unrivalled knowledge and understanding of the third-party distribution channel to ensure our products and experiences not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of our broker partners and their customers,” Mr Saoud said.

Regional Manager – North (NSW/ACT & QLD), Drew Clegg

Drew has been a Senior BDM within Pepper Money’s NSW sales team for over four years. During this time, he has built a solid reputation within the industry and is highly respected amongst his peers, says Mr Saoud.

“Drew has always been a blue-sky thinker and challenges the way we do things; having championed many new and innovative ideas that have since been adopted by the broader team at Pepper Money. His passion and experience will further support our brokers and customers.”

Victoria State Growth Manager, Pasquale Caia

Pasquale has been with Pepper Money for over 9 years in a number of roles, including most recently and successfully as a high-touch Senior Business Development Manager known for his extensive specialist lending knowledge and his unmatched devotion to brokers.

Last year, Pasquale was recognised as one of the best BDMs in the country. Taking on the new responsibility of State Growth Manager, he will lead growth within the VIC market and identifying new opportunities to gain market share.

Mr Saoud said, “Pasquale’s success is based almost exclusively on positive referrals and passion for Lending. He earns the respect of his brokers by working tirelessly on their behalf and by always offering them support and education.”

Also commenting on the new appointments, Pepper Money’s Head of Mortgages – Retail Broker Siobhan Williams said: “I’m thrilled to congratulate our team members on these exciting new appointments and opportunities.

“Pepper Money is investing heavily in the broker channel, with a focus on having the right people and leveraging our industry leading digital tools to allow for a more seamless approach between the customer, broker, and our partners. Our focus is about reducing effort across all interactions with transparency and scale.”  Siobhan Williams

“Our team of BDMs and relationship managers are incredibly important when it comes to ensuring brokers across the country are fully supported now – more than ever.
