Important things to remember

For the vehicle or motorbike to be an eligible security, it must be no older than 12 years at the end of the loan term.

When assessing the suitability of any vehicle or motorbike offered as security, a maximum loan to valuation ratio of 120% will apply. In assessing this requirement, Pepper Money will calculate the loan to valuation ratio using the following calculation:

  • Loan amount divided by the Average Retail Value of the vehicle or motorbike.
  • Pepper Money will use Redbook to source the Average Retail Value.
  • In the event that your loan proceeds, you will also be required to:
    • take out out comprehensive insurance cover over the vehicle against collision damage, theft, fire and other usual risks, third party property insurance and compulsory third party insurance. You must ensure that the interests of Pepper Finance Corporation Limited as mortgagee / secured party are noted on the policy.
    • within 14 days of your loan funding, provide Pepper Money with: a copy of the transfer of vehicle registration (signed by the seller and you), or a copy of the acknowledgment regarding receipt of the registration transfer information, from the relevant state registering authority, or a copy of the new registration certificate with you as owner, if this has already been received.
